(Reversing) transfer box gearing

The transfer box gearing or reversing transfer box gearing is placed in the power train of the secondary transmission system between the hydraulic torque converter and the wheelset drives. It bridges the vertical offset between torque converter and the wheelset drives. Transmission is achieved via spur gear stages; various transmission stages are possible. With reversing transfer box gearing, a reverse gear can also be employed to enable a change of rotation direction.
